Track the Red Centre
Those wanting to explore the Red Centre without busloads of tourists, will be impressed by the personal attention of the Track the Red Centre experience. The seven day / six night holiday begins in Darwin with a journey south through the lush tropics aboard the legendary Ghan.
From a whistlestop In Katherine, it’s on to Alice Springs where guests are met by their host, who over four days will take them ‘off the beaten track’ to discover the cultural and spiritual beauty of the Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon Region. From walks through ancient caves, to luxury tent accommodation (called ‘glamping’), guests experience a side to the Red Centre that most tourists don’t lay eyes on.
The Ghan and the Indian Pacific are about both the journey and the destination. They are about comfort, style and indulgence; enjoying silver service dining while the ever changing landscape unfolds beyond the window.
The mighty trains grant access to some of Australia’s most remote and incredible outback locations – from Outback pubs, to ancient cave exploration.
The Flinders Outback Escape and the Track the Red Centre tour, along with the huge range of other holiday packages available, offer the grand adventure and extreme relaxation for which Australia’s Great Train Holidays are famous.
