NEW! ANGLICAN RETIREMENT VILLAGES’ MARCUS LOANE HOUSE - SUPPORTED LIVING

AT WARRIEWOOD BROOK

Anglican Retirement Villages’ (ARV) recently opened Marcus Loane House, a world-class facility for low-level care and dementia-specific care, within its new retirement community at Warriewood Brook on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Warriewood touches the sea on the east and bushland on the west. Via Mona Vale Road, it is an easy drive from Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Districts.
The facility was named in honour of the first Australian-born Archbishop of Sydney, Sir Marcus Loane (1911 – 2009) who was a long time resident of Sydney’s north and a member of St James Anglican Church in Turramurra.
ARV’s  CEO Rob Freeman said that ARV is committed to creating communities of Christian care that are equipped to provide for residents as they age.
“We encourage residents to live on site in our independent living units for as long as possible, and provide any assistance they need. When the time comes for extra care, a private room in a low-care facility is situated within their village community. This keeps family and friends close, enables our staff to build valuable relationships with the residents and ensures familiarity with their surrounds,” said Mr Freeman.
Marcus Loane House features an innovative design for supported living.  The 119 rooms are divided into clusters of 17 rooms to create small household communities - each of which includes living spaces, dining room, resident kitchen, laundry. recreation spaces and outdoor areas.

Kitchen and bathroom

Mr Freeman said the facility has a high ratio of staff to residents on duty 24 hours a day.
“Registered nurses and certified carers work together to offer residents individualised care plans. In addition ARV, has a team of dementia specific and palliative care nurses on site,” he said.
Welcoming its first 16 residents in February, Marcus Loane House has begun providing a care alternative on the northern beaches.
Marcus Loane House’s Facility manager Geraldine Tattersall said it was a pleasure to welcome the new residents.
“They are settling in well and enjoying forming friendships in their new home.”

Care Matters - CHATSWOOD GARDEN VILLAGE

It's always difficult to know when presenting a property, whether to set it up for display, or whether to let prospective residents the scope to use their own imagination. Some people prefer to see a room completely empty so that they can visualise how their own furniture will fit such as where their special armchair might go. Then there are other people who like to see how a decorator's flair makes the most of the possibilities and creates the magic which transforms a space into a real home.

This is why Chatswood Garden Village, Lane Cove, has decided to follow both pathways. A gifted decorator was commissioned to set up a new display unit, and her brief was to include some of the little extras that give the unit an individual personality. But two display units have been left completely empty, so that those who have a flair for decoration can allow their imaginations roam free. Chatswood Garden Village offers quality one and two bedroom residences in a desirable lower North Shore location, conveniently located near retail and entertainment areas, health services and transport. An extensive range of facilities and activities are available to all residents-designed to accommodate your independent lifestyle or involve you in the village community. Friendly staff are on hand to monitor each unit 24 hours a day, should you require assistance.

At Chatswood Garden Village you can have your own private home in a setting of beautiful gardens and garden courtyards, with stunning views of the Chatswood Golf Course and Lane Cove National Park. If you've visited Chatswood Garden Village in the past, you are invited to visit again to see the new display unit. And if it your first visit, ask for Jane who will warmly welcome you.
