Bri and Sheila are a young married couple. They care for their daughter, nicknamed Joe Egg, and they are the model of bravery and courage in the face of adversity. Living by the rule that if you don’t laugh you’ll cry, it’s fortunate that Bri is a natural born entertainer. But what lies beneath Bri’s funny lounge room antics?
Written by celebrated British playwright Peter Nichols this brilliant black comedy defined late 60s British theatre and has been heralded by London’s National Theatre as one of the most significant plays of the 20th century.
Compelling, heartfelt and outrageously funny A Day in the Death of Joe Egg remains as relevant and thought-provoking today as it was half a century ago.
The new Australian production of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg is being staged October 21 – 30 at the Seymour Centre Cnr Cleveland Street & City Road, Chippendale (NSW). For more information and bookings call the box office on (02) 9351 7940 or visit www.seymourcentre.com
